It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Lenny as a personal trainer. He has been training me in a one on one environment 3 times a week since May 1, 2018. I have been training with Lenny for approximately four months.  There are many great things to say about Lenny, but here are the areas that I've noticed the most. Lenny places a great deal of emphasis on performing the exercises correctly.  He takes the time to show me how an exercise should be performed, as well as explaining the consequences of not performing the exercise correctly. Even when I don't believe in myself or my ability to complete an exercise, he pushes me to constantly improve and perform better than the last time. Because of this, I've noticed marked improvement in my endurance during the past four months.

Lenny not only guides me through the workouts, but also provides guidance regarding improvements to make outside of the gym (i.e. mental health, importance of sleep, importance of stretching, eating habits, etc.) that will promote further improvement in the gym. Overall, Lenny has been an absolute pleasure to work with, and I look forward to working with him for years to come!

When I started working out with Lenny I was as unhealthy as could be. He however, has installed in me determination, confidence and a love for working out. 
 
He and I had a one on one talk on personal goals as well as overall heath when we first met. He has stuck to that and helped me tremendously. I have been working with him for several months and have lost 50lbs along with my body becoming more toned. I am so much stronger and heart healthy now. Whenever I felt like giving up, he was there for me to fall back on and he put me back on track. Lenny knows how to make a session fun and enjoyable while getting a complete and total body workout.
 
Over time he got used to the way my body works and pushes me until just the right moment. Never too far. He offers stretching techniques, things you can do at home to better yourself, strength training exercises, cardio, and a whole lot of laughs. He encourages me to celebrates every milestone, no matter how big or small.

When I turned 70, I joined a gym because my Medicare provider paid for the membership. After taking the ‘free fitness evaluation’, which took me 4 days to recover from, I decided to hire a personal trainer.
 
The fates must have been smiling on me because Lenny became my trainer.  When I began, not only was I weaker – weaker than I realized – but my balance was terrible, and I had hip pain most of the time. I’d been to physical therapy more than once and was taking pain medication and steroids for my hip, but my movements were still limited, and I was miserable because of the pain and had difficulty walking and going up and down the stairs.  When I got into my car, I actually had to lift my left leg with my hand to get in the seat.

Lenny understood my problem immediately.  Most of my early sessions focused on my weak hips and legs.  He constantly re-assessed and modified my program.  He challenged me and believed in me until I started to believe in myself.  I have accomplished things I would never have thought myself capable of doing. I think it took me about 4 months of training with Lenny to get to the point where I was moving normally.  My balance improved, my pain disappeared, I’m not taking any medication, I can walk, I can go up and down the stairs without any problem, and that left leg just slides into the car seat all by itself.

I have continued to train with Lenny because with his help I have come further than I would ever had thought possible and I know I will continue to get stronger, healthier and more balanced. I have more stamina and I believe my memory, mood and mental functioning have also improved. 

Now my training sessions are a pleasure.  I am so pleased with the way my old body looks and performs.  Lenny has become more than a trainer, he is my support, my friend, my mentor.  He once told me that he is not just there to make me stronger.  He was there to make my life better.  And he has indeed!

After turning 35 this year I decided that I was going to get back into shape after not having worked out on a regular basis since my early twenties. I had put fitness on the back burner for more than 10 years due to there never seeming to be enough time while running a company, and having young children. I knew I needed personal training in order to get into better shape faster, and more efficiently.
 
On my birthday I decided to walk into LA Fitness in Missouri City not knowing what to expect. I was greeted by a sales guy when I walked in and I quickly cut to the chase. I told him that if I'm signing up for personal training, it will need to be the best trainer in the facility. He immediately told me that would be Lenny Anderson. Lenny then came over and introduced himself. It was very apparent early on that Lenny was a true professional, and a master at his craft. Lenny and I discussed what our goals were going to be, and he laid out the game plan. Lenny isn't there to take it easy on clients and make it a social experience. He’s there to accomplish the goals that people think about and hope for, but often do not put in the time to achieve.
 
After training with Lenny for over 7 months, I could not be any happier with the results that we have achieved. My body has gone through a transformation, and my confidence has increased exponentially. My endurance, and strength are where they were at when I was in my late teen’s/early twenties, if not even better. Anyone can go to a gym and “work out”. However, after working with Lenny for some time, I now know that many of those people are doing it the wrong way and will not see top results. Fitness and training is a science. Lenny Anderson utilizes techniques and methods that you would've otherwise not thought of. His methods have delivered the results that I could have only dreamed about the day before I signed up to train with him. When I first met Lenny, I knew right away that he was one of a kind. Soft spoken with understated authority backed by experience and wisdom in athletic training.  Why does he stand out? Because in the, sometimes superficial, world of ego-centric local gym fitness trainers, rarely do you find one who truly has deep knowledge and a talent for teaching fitness training and the patience to work with your individual body type relentlessly.
 
In the past, my modus operandum is to avoid eye contact with any trainer as I walk into a gym, to avoid the eventual sales pitch. Barf, eye roll – you get the picture. I’m a self-motivated, overly educated individual who has worked out 80% of my life, with the belief of:  “What is “that” trainer going to teach me!”.   Not anymore: Time for me to take a back seat; and let Lenny lead. He actually does know far more than me, and he shares his knowledge in such a kind and fun way that now, I travel over 30 minutes, out of my way to a training session with him.  Who would have believed that???
 
Lenny exudes a quiet confidence – and when you sign up for your first training session, it will become crystal clear that he has a deep and wide understanding of human exercise physiology – beyond just “here’s a workout program and I’ll babysit you while you follow it”.  
 
Overall your first session with Lenny will include:
Evaluation of your current state, questions about past injuries, and he will incorporate all of that into training plan, identifying your weak spots,telling you why they are weak and consequences if not addressed. Then gets to work
 
Before you do anything – he’ll demonstrates first, proper form and common bad form and what to focus on. (Hint it’s not the weight).  He specifically points out importance of core, of how, and if it do it right. If not correct, he stops you and demonstrates again.  Lots of emphasis on form and doing it right, not about the amt of weight, it’s about engaging the correct muscles
 
Many trainers will do some of the above, and after the 4/5th time… they get sloppy, distracted.  Not Lenny!  He is hyper focused on you doing your workout. Even when someone walks up to him, - he asks them to “hold on”… I want to watch see my client do this first, then I’ll .. get to you.  He is hyper focused on serving client’s needs.
 
He has a deep knowledge of physiology and changes up the work out every time, 
 
In my thirty years of working out weekly, with few exceptions and where I’m coming from (I’m person who voraciously read every exercise book I could my hands on from my 20 onward and saturated my brain with repetitions), he is the best fitness trainer I have met.  Period.

I have been working out for a couple of years on my own without results when I decided about year ago to try personal training. I needed to lose weight and firm up for my daughter’s wedding and  that is when I met Lenworth Anderson. From day one I knew I had made the right choice. He was the person to help me achieve my goal. Since I am an older adult woman, beginning personal training can be challenging, discouraging, and even somewhat dangerous, if not conducted by a knowledgeable trainer.  When I began with Lenworth several months ago, I have been increasingly impressed with his knowledge of body structure, age considerations, appropriate exercises, and his ongoing patience and good humor.  I can, and do, recommended him without reservation.

I have been very impressed with Lenworth since I started working with him over 6 months ago.  He makes a personal connection and adapts his style on an individual level to what works best for each client, instead of a one size fits all approach.  I don’t want to be yelled at, cheered on, or patted on the head – none of those styles are effective for me.  Lenworth spent a lot of time getting to know me and learning what does work best for me.  He emphasizes form to reduce risk of injury and ensure maximum results.  He is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and if I am struggling with a particular exercise, he immediately zeroes in on what is causing the problem and how we can fix it.

I moved from Ireland to Trinidad & Tobago in September 2015. As anyone knows moving to a new job & country comes with a certain degree of stress and pressure. Having led an active fitness routine in Ireland and gaining 6 pounds in my first 3 months in Trinidad, I was becoming very frustrated with both myself and trying to find a gym and trainer that I could feel comfortable with. It was also necessary that I find one that would fit in with my very hectic work schedule. I was recommended Lenworth in March 2016 and scheduled in my 1st class with him immediately.  Since then I have been training with him approx. 2 to 3 times a week. Despite the fact that my work involves long hours with lots of travel outside of Trinidad, he made every effort to accommodate and fit me at all times, despite some last minute requests from me.
 
From Day 1, he worked on building up my strength, pushed me hard but never to the point where it was not safe and always paid close attention to ensuring I was using all of the equipment and weights correctly. This is something that he excelled in. He also demonstrated to me the importance of stretching at the end of each class (something I had never really done before). After 3 months, I have seen such an improvement in my body shape, I have toned up and best news of all I have lost those additional pounds and my clothes are now fitting me again.
 
My confidence, strength and energy is back. He also taught me the importance of eating well and recommended the type of foods to eat for my body shape and lifestyle. To say that I am going to miss Lenny when he moves to his new life in Texas is an understatement. He is without doubt one of the most professional, good humored and experienced trainer I have every worked with. Nothing is every a hassle with Lenny and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
